The Pink Argonauts (TPA) continued to make waves in marine conservation and community development by staging its third consecutive Golf and Dive Charity Program, highlighted by a successful golf tournament and diving seminar recently held at the Canlubang Golf and Country Club and in Anilao, Mabini, Batangas.
More than 200 golf enthusiasts participated in the 18-hole tournament, demonstrating vigorous support for the organization’s advocacy efforts. Clay Vasques emerged as the Overall Gross Champion, while Kendrick Samson secured the Overall Net title.
“We’re very thankful to all the players and sponsors who help us fulfill our mission of uplifting the lives of our bankeros and fishermen—transforming them into master divers who actively support our marine conservation and sustainable livelihood programs,” said TPA co-founder and organizing committee head Tessa Neri.
In the Men’s Division, Eric Ortega topped Class A with Zaro Zalduam finishing as first runner-up. Samuel Neri ruled Class B, followed by Roldan “Dan” Cabatan, while Carl Mike Martinez led Class C with Raymart Canicosa as runner-up.
Cristel Seraphine dominated the Ladies Division Class A, edging Jona Leah Mercolita, while Aix Morales and Lyna Mae Arabejo placed first and second, respectively, in Class B. In Class C, Mikko-Yves Bautista clinched the title with Anna Sy finishing runner-up.
Special awards were also handed out, with Bern Brown winning the Longest Drive and Ruel Burlat claiming the Nearest-to-the-Pin honors.
Beyond competition, the event underscored a deeper purpose.
“The success of the 3rd Pink Argonauts Golf and Dive Fundraising Event goes beyond the greens and the ocean—it directly fuels our Zero to Hero PADI Divemaster Program,” Neri added. “Through the support of our participants, sponsors, and partners, we continue to transform lives in Mabini, Batangas.”
To date, the program has produced 12 scholar-graduates who are now certified PADI Divemasters, enabling them to earn sustainable livelihoods while actively protecting marine ecosystems.
Organizations that share TPA’s vision of responsible tourism and environmental stewardship made the 2026 edition of the tournament possible through their partnerships. Among the key supporters are the Department of Tourism, Aiyanar Beach and Dive Resort, Batangas Scuba Academy, Pacifica Dive, PADI, Armscor Global Defense Inc., Bank of Singapore, and Scubapro.
Proceeds from the event will fund the certification of aspiring local divemasters and dive guides in Anilao. By investing in internationally recognized training and skills development, TPA aims to strengthen responsible diving practices while boosting community-based marine tourism in one of the country’s premier dive destinations.
The golf tournament forms part of the broader GolfDive 2026, held from March 12 to 15 in Anilao. The multi-day event also features an Underwater Photo Competition and a Clean-Up Fun Dive—further reinforcing the group’s commitment to environmental protection.
Through initiatives like GolfDive 2026, The Pink Argonauts continue to demonstrate how sports, tourism, and advocacy can work hand in hand to safeguard marine ecosystems while creating meaningful and sustainable opportunities for coastal communities.
