DUBAI--The Pampanga Giant Lanterns flaunted their strength with a breezy 88-71 victory over the Quezon Huskers in Game One of their MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League) Sixth Season National Finals that ended at 8 p.m. Sunday (2 a.m. in Manila) at the Al Nasr Club's Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall here.

The Quezon Huskers, led by Gov. Helen Tan, celebrate with the MPBL South Division championship trophy.

WHEN the crown was on the line, the Quezon Huskers found a custodian in LJ Gonzales.
Replicating his Game Two heroics, Gonzales tallied the Huskers' last 13 points as Quezon Province tripped Batangas, 65-60, in Game Three on Thursday and clinched the MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League) Sixth Season South Division championship at the packed Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City.

GIVEN a life extension, the Quezon Huskers hope to complete their recovery when they tackle the Batangas City Tanduay Rum Masters in a Game Three decider for the South Division crown at 7 p.m. Thursday in the MPBL (Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League) Sixth Season at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City.
